A Sailing Secretary's Apology

The last results posted seem to be for  the April Cup. That's pretty poor and your Sailing Secretary offers his sincere and humble apologies that this is the case. The good news is that the results are now all up to date and in HAL so you can drill away to your heart's content: -

There are two small niggles to report.

  1. The "cup" competitions are based on the results from Signature Series races. Race Officers are scored their average (excluding DNC) for the races they officiate. However HAL then scores them 1st in the Cup results. It's obviously wrong as they score zero! I've asked the makers of HAL about it, but for the avoidance of doubt - the Race Officers don't get any prize other than our thanks for their efforts :-) We've come up with a cludge so ignore the above.
  2. The only InterClub race we've had so far this year started a bit late because I dragged my anchor and ended up near the middle of the lake. For some reason (probably stress) the results that were posted on the blog post below recorded the start time as 1323 which is obviously wrong and which mistake I did not spot before. The start time was obviously 7 mins after the planned start time rather than 7 mins before, i.e. 1337 not 1323. The correction narrows the result slightly (each boat has 14 mins less elapsed time) but doesn't change the final positions. I will leave the orignal blog unaltered but the result here is the correct result.

A good turnout on a fine day gave close racing with occasionally challenging conditions for short handed crews. Pura Vida looked ahead on the water but corrected times show a different picture with Seventh Heaven taking Race 2 and the fleet close together for both races. Nevertheless, Pura Vida held on to pip Seventh Heaven to this year's September Cup.
