Close racing over two great days of sailing

A warm welcome to WCA for Gary Cleary and family on yacht Buddy who were sailing their first race with WCA.

Wildly varying wind conditions over the two days were a challenge for race organisers David and Jan on Artemis, with good course choices being set on each day. Day one in particular became an interesting mix of skill, judgment, luck and frustration with boats stuck in a deadly calms whilst  watching others hard on the wind a hundred metres away.  Such are the joys!

The consistency of Seventh Heaven over the two days proved unbeatable with three wins out of four.  Some very close racing on corrected times, with only 15 secs and 18 secs between 1st and 2nd places on day one.

A good turnout on a fine day gave close racing with occasionally challenging conditions for short handed crews. Pura Vida looked ahead on the water but corrected times show a different picture with Seventh Heaven taking Race 2 and the fleet close together for both races. Nevertheless, Pura Vida held on to pip Seventh Heaven to this year's September Cup.
