2024: InterClub Series Raceday 3

Tough day at the races ...

So that's it for another InterClub Series - the wind was vary variable but at least the weather was clement. Those of us on the committee boat were treated to a fantastic finishing battle between High Five and Jailbreak - with High Five finishing first on the water 5 seconds ahead. Race 3 felt like a long race - but ninety minutes used to be the target time for InterClub races not so long ago, Anyway, great to see eight boats competing. Twenty seconds separated 1st and 2nd places in race one, and twenty two in race 2. Race 3 was a different affair, with Seventh Heaven managing to keep moving in very light wind and gaining about 100m. Owasippe looked like she'd be locked out but caught a gust and finishing strongly.

Which leaves open the question of who will win the InterClub Trophy this year - find out at out presentation evening :-)

A good turnout on a fine day gave close racing with occasionally challenging conditions for short handed crews. Pura Vida looked ahead on the water but corrected times show a different picture with Seventh Heaven taking Race 2 and the fleet close together for both races. Nevertheless, Pura Vida held on to pip Seventh Heaven to this year's September Cup.
