2022 Results: Pursuit Race 4

Pah. I mean well done everyone.

The forecast changed with a lot more Westerly so the race was set for the North Lake. In fact the forecast was completely wrong and the wind was more or less S/SSE. Fortunately it was blowing in the North Lake so we managed an interesting race up and down the lake. The course started at Mark 4 (P) and a yellow pin (S) then 2S 9P (repeat). In fact only Seventh Heaven managed to round mark 2 a second time and scored another victory.

2nd place went to Josh and Ian aboard Renegade - they were both very relaxed as far as we could tell.

From the radio chatter as the results were collected it seems the closest competition was at the back of the fleet. Deo Confidimus held off Firefly until just before 9P and High Five until just after. Nevermind - It was exciting while it lasted.

It was nice to see Graham and Will out again on Ey-up. They successfully held off High Five but not Firefly.

We were all winners I've decided - what a beautiful day to be on the lake, and with enough wind to sail. Losers on the day were the Met Office - it must have been the warmth - they seem to lose the plot when it's more than 15C.

A good turnout on a fine day gave close racing with occasionally challenging conditions for short handed crews. Pura Vida looked ahead on the water but corrected times show a different picture with Seventh Heaven taking Race 2 and the fleet close together for both races. Nevertheless, Pura Vida held on to pip Seventh Heaven to this year's September Cup.
