Results: Signature B Race 2

Another beautiful afternoon on the lake.

The race was in the North Lake with a rabbit start at Mark 7. The course was 11P 8P 12S with the finish line between marks 6(P) and 7(S). FireFly kindly pointed out that the finish was downwind - to the Sailing Sec's suprise!

The forecast wind was SE but, true to form, swung E for the start. This was a bit unfortunate for Ju Ju who didn't cross behind the rabbit after the start and had 5 minutes added to their time by way of penalty.

The wind died around Mark 12 and as RWYC were all also using it the lake resembled a parking lot. This was too much for Greyhound who retired and headed back to Ferry Nab.

Clear winner on the water was FireFly, and clear winner on corrected time was Magic Touch. The corrected time results for the rest of the fleet are close. Mariska took a fantastic 2nd place. FireFly was a few minutes ahead of High Five and Deo confidimus was only 13 unlucky seconds behind her.

A good turnout on a fine day gave close racing with occasionally challenging conditions for short handed crews. Pura Vida looked ahead on the water but corrected times show a different picture with Seventh Heaven taking Race 2 and the fleet close together for both races. Nevertheless, Pura Vida held on to pip Seventh Heaven to this year's September Cup.
