Restarting sailing after March 29

Sailing Secretary • 27 February 2021

Fingers crossed! 🤞

Following the Committee's meeting on Thursday evening we're now making plans for a summer calendar. Technically sailing can begin again from March 29 subject to the "rule of six/two households" however Easter Weekend follows immediately after this and overnight stays are not permitted.

It seems unlikely that members will have time to put their boats back in the water before Easter, and so we have decided to hold a belated Easter Regatta over the weekend of 17th and 18th April.

We will organise a few informal 'shakedown' pursuit races for Sat 3rd and 10th of April for members with boats in the water.

The rest of the calendar will be made available in the near future.

A good turnout on a fine day gave close racing with occasionally challenging conditions for short handed crews. Pura Vida looked ahead on the water but corrected times show a different picture with Seventh Heaven taking Race 2 and the fleet close together for both races. Nevertheless, Pura Vida held on to pip Seventh Heaven to this year's September Cup.
