Very light wind as the WCA Winter Series returns at last ...

Today's first warning signal was planned for 1025 but the wind had other plans. The fleet marked the two minute Remembrance Sunday silence at 1100 and it looked like we'd all be heading back at noon without a race. But .. at 1150 a 3.5-4kt NW breeze settled in. Some handy mark laying from Graham and David on OD2 had us ready to start a race by 12:23 under the supervision of RYA National Race Officer David Rowlands.

We shortened after two laps, and the wind dropped to 1.5kt sending the fleet back to the Boathouse.

Thanks to David, Andrew, and Pierre who helped to run the race from OD1. Let's hope for a bit more wind in a fortnight!

A good turnout on a fine day gave close racing with occasionally challenging conditions for short handed crews. Pura Vida looked ahead on the water but corrected times show a different picture with Seventh Heaven taking Race 2 and the fleet close together for both races. Nevertheless, Pura Vida held on to pip Seventh Heaven to this year's September Cup.
