Owasippe pip SC1

We were blessed with beautiful sunshine as shown in the photo above of SC1. As for the wind ... well it was certainly shifty.

The start of Race #2 was abandoned twice as the wind shifted from SE to SSW then E. The third start was 3-2-1 with the starting pin on the starboard side of race control - all very out of the ordinary.

That said we managed to complete two races. Owasippe winning the first and SC1 the second, which meant Owasippe held off SC1 overall - SC1 had a recall in the first race which may make all the difference at the end of the season!

This was the first InterClub of the year with a new format - just one day pf racing rather than a regatta weekend, and informal drinks post-race rather than a formal social event. Thanks to RWYC who hosted a good few visitors after the race - we anchored N of Thompson's Holme and were tendered across by Steve B and Paul A - thanks both! Happy to report it worked well.

Hope to see everyone back for Race Day 2 on Sat 8th July :-)

A good turnout on a fine day gave close racing with occasionally challenging conditions for short handed crews. Pura Vida looked ahead on the water but corrected times show a different picture with Seventh Heaven taking Race 2 and the fleet close together for both races. Nevertheless, Pura Vida held on to pip Seventh Heaven to this year's September Cup.
