2024: April Cup

Seventh Heaven for some!

Thanks to Ian & Julie on Go With The Flow who were Race Officers today and took us to the North Lake in E/ESE winds. These were variable for the first race but built and steadied for the second.

Race 1 was windward-leeward from Wray bay to mark 10S / Orange Mark P [1 lap sailed]

For Race 2 Ian set a triangular course  having tweaked the start line - 11P / 7P / Orange Mark P [Two laps sailed]

Six WCA entries were joined by two guest entries from LDBC so a good fleet of eight on a beautiful sailing day on Windermere.

Those monitoring CH16 will have heard the drama as a boat apprently sank and her crew had to be rescued. The lake is still very cold and so it seems appropriate to ask everyone to take a look at our "Cold Water Shock guidance" and watch the short RYA video.

The next two WCA races are on bank holiday Sundays with the InterClub sandwiched between.

Hopefully see you then - Stephen

A good turnout on a fine day gave close racing with occasionally challenging conditions for short handed crews. Pura Vida looked ahead on the water but corrected times show a different picture with Seventh Heaven taking Race 2 and the fleet close together for both races. Nevertheless, Pura Vida held on to pip Seventh Heaven to this year's September Cup.
